Charted in 1975, the Duke Arab American Association, was founded to “develop a better understanding of the Middle East & the Arab world, culturally, economically, and socially.” According to the original charter application, seen below, the founding executive officers were Qays Zu’bi (President), Fawaz Zu’bi (Vice-President), and Zac Isaacs (Secretary/Treasurer). The group later changed its name to Duke Arab Student Organization (DASO).
