Alpha Delta Pi, Omicron Chapter

Check out this photograph of the founding members of Alpha Delta Pi sorority! The Omicron chapter of Alpha Delta Pi was the first sorority to install a national chapter on the Trinity College (now Duke University) campus in 1911. The six charter members were: Fannie Kilgo, Emma McCullen, Mildred Sinclair, Sally Smith, Annie St. George, and Lizzie Wren. Do you recognize that first name? Fannie Kilgo was the daughter of John C. Kilgo, the president of Trinity College from 1894-1910. The chapter at Duke was disbanded in 2021, after 110 years of activity, but some of their records live on in the University Archives: Alpha Delta Pi, Omicron Chapter records, 1927-1979.
