LGBT Studies: Organizational Records

The ALFA Archives contains early records of ALFA and other gay and counterculture groups active in Atlanta and the southeast during the 1970s and early 1980s and are particularly rich in documenting lesbian activism and culture.

The collection contains the company's administrative, subject, financial and subject files, as well as audio/visual materials and wholesale and retail catalogs, which feature women musicians, composers, and singers.

The LHRC was a nonprofit organization founded in 1996 to provide educational workshops and resource materials on all health issues for women who partner with women. This organization is a successor to the NC Lesbian and Gay Health Project that was founded in 1982, and whose records are held at Duke as well.

Triangle Community Works! was formed in 1994 and consists of a coalition of groups, including ASPYN (A Safer Place Youth Network), The Gay and Lesbian Helpline, P-FLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), and RRNGLE (Raleigh Religious Network for Gay and Lesbian Equality).
