National Humanities Center is a private, nonprofit organization, and the only independent institute dedicated exclusively to advanced study in all areas of the humanities. They sometimes support digital humanities scholars in their fellowship program and host dh-related workshops and events.
North American Organizations, Events, & Resources
- Association for Computers and the Humanities (ACH) is the US-based professional society for the digital humanities. They host annual conferences, advocate for dh and the broader humanities, and host career development opportunities for graduate students and early career scholars. They also co-publish Digital Humanities Quarterly.
- Canadian Society of Digital Humanities/Société canadienne des humanités numériques (CSDH/SCHN) fosters work in the digital humanities in Canada's two official languages, and champions interaction between Canada's anglophone and francophone communities, in all areas reflected by its diverse membership. They host an annual conference and publish Digital Studies / Le champ numérique.
- Digital Humanities Now is an experimental, edited publication that highlights and distributes informally published digital humanities scholarship and resources from the open web. Sign up for their newsletter for regular news on the latest in digital humanities.
- Digital Humanities Slack is a a set of informal, connected chat rooms for the digital humanities and related interests, with over 50 "channels" (chat rooms) devoted to specific topics such as DH teaching, coding, library work, and conferences. - Digital Humanities Summer Institute (DHSI) is an annual digital scholarship training institute hosted at the Université de Montréal. Course offerings range from text analysis to project management to podcasting and more. They offer scholarships to assist with registration fees.
- DHSI-East is sister to DHSI and is hosted at St. Francis Xavier University.

Digital Library Federation (DLF) is a community of practitioners who advance research, learning, social justice, and the public good through the creative design and wise application of digital library technologies. - Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations (ADHO) promotes and supports digital research and teaching across all arts and humanities disciplines, acting as a community-based advisory force, and supporting excellence in research, publication, collaboration and training. They are an umbrella organization for a growing number of regional DH organizations. They organize the annual international Digital Humanities Conference, and they support a variety of Special Interest Groups focused on everything from pedagogy to global community building to dh activities among librarians and technologists.
