Story+ at the Rubenstein

(Almost) everything you need to know about doing research at the Rubenstein Library

Placing Requests for Archival Material

To use collection material in the Rubenstein Library, you need to have placed a request for a specific box or book. Most of the Rubenstein Library's collections are stored offsite and take 4 days to be delivered, so you'll need to plan ahead.

You can begin the process from a collection guide or from a catalog record:

From a collection guide

Click the "Request for Onsite Use" button on the right:

From a catalog record

Click the green "Request" button in the top right:

You will see a list of all the items in the collection. Select the box or volume you wish to request, and click “Request for onsite use.” If you need to request multiple volumes or boxes, you must request each one individually:

You'll be asked to sign in with your NetID, and then you'll get a request form filled with the citation information. You'll just need to enter the day you plan to visit, and then you can submit your request:

Repeat these steps for each item you want to see.

We'll email you when your material is ready for use in the reading room.
