Rubenstein Library Resources on Diplomacy and International Relations

Designed to support the Rethinking Diplomacy Program, this guide provides an overview of resources available in the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library.

Introduction

This guide focuses on manuscript collections produced during the 20th and 21st centuries, though the Rubenstein does hold earlier material related to diplomacy. For the most part, print material has been omitted, but suggested catalog search strategies are provided on this page. Several relevant Duke theses are listed individually. For information about using Rubenstein collections, please see the Research section of our home page or contact us.

Library Catalog Search Strategies

Use subject searches with these formats to identify books and other library resources. These searches use the Books and Media option of the Duke University Libraries catalog. Use the facets on the left to limit your results as needed. Keyword searches can also be effective. If you find a useful item, check the full record to identify subject headings that might lead you to additional relevant titles.Using the Advanced Search option allows you to design a more sophisticated search, combining a subject search and keywords and limiting by publication date, language, format, location, etc.
