Stanely Resor (1879-1962) and his associates purchased J. Walter Thompson in 1924. He served as JWT president for thirty-nine years, during which period he led the company to become one of the nation's preeminent advertising agencies. He is also a founder of the American Association of Advertising Agencies in 1917.
