CHEM 110: Core Concepts in Context

I'll be working with your class to help you find materials and navigate the library's many resources for your group writing assignment.  Your job is to identify:

• a key concept of chemistry,
• explain the key concept, and 
• connect the concept to real world applications.

Chapter 3 of ChemPRIME, a freely available textbook has tons of examples.  Check out Section 3.2.3 3.2.3: Everyday Life- Why Fats Don't Add Up on Food Nutrition Labels to see how central concepts of chemistry are explained and demonstrated in a real word example.  Why don't fats add up on nutrition labels?

1. Find the full text of a specific article by using the library's Articles search.
2. Find specific journals by title (ex. Social Science & Medicine) using the Online Journal Titles page.
3. Find specific research databases  (ex. Pubmed) using the Research Databases page.

Can't find the article? Request articles that Duke doesn't own using InterLibrary Requests.
