Read the citation

Your first step is to use the citation information provided to determine whether or not your source is a book or a journal.  Also look for important identifying information, such as an author's name, year of publication, publisher, website, etc.  You may find it useful to review our citation guide to help read the citation.

Locating a Journal Article

When you know the name of your journal article and what journal it comes from, the easiest way to find your article is to do a journal title search.  Then locate the volume, issue, and page numbers you need.

Locating a Book

If you have a book title, do a title search in Books and More on our website to track down a copy of the book.

If you can't find the source

If you can't locate the source, you can either try to contact me or you can try to do a Document Delivery request.  We will then attempt to find a copy of the article or book from a different library.
