The Lilly Library defines it's hardcopy (bound periodicals) collection by "visual materials magazines". This included long runs of magazines whose principal use was visual. These are great for historic examination of Visual Culture and Women's history/gender culture.
Although some of these are partially online, it's best to experience the original and intentional impression by examining hard copies.
