Writing 101: Writing Portrayed in Media and Scholarship

Search the Books & Media library catalog to find print and online books, films, music--everything EXCEPT articles

(which can be found in the Articles and Research Databases links).

Start with a Keywords search, using words that describe your topic, and see what you find. Here are some examples of searches related to your course topics:

• Communication in [discipline or profession] (e.g., Communication in engineering)
• [discipline] -- Authorship (e.g., Sociology -- Authorship)
• [discipline or profession] in motion pictures (e.g., Teachers in motion pictures)
• [discipline or profession] on television (e.g., Lawyers on television)
• [discipline] academic writing (e.g., biology "academic writing")
• [discipline or profession] "mass media" (e.g., nursing "mass media")
