You can explore material culture outside of the archives! The Rubenstein Library has multiple gallery spaces that host exhibitions throughout the year and North Carolina is full of museums, archives, and historic sites. These sites are resources for ongoing material culture studies and can provide examples for what applied material culture studies can look like at different cultural and heritage institutions.
Come see materials and material culture at work at the various multiple and online exhibitions facilitated by the Duke University Libraries Exhibit Program! Both the physical and online exhibitions can be a great opportunity to learn more about the Rubenstein's collection and to see what material culture studies looks like outside of the classroom.
