WELCOME - Dance 101 (Shah) students

Catalogs

1. Duke Library Catalog - Choose the "catalog" tab, then "advanced" for the most precise searching

Use your natural language to find ONE book that's relevant.  Then go into the record and click the subject headings assigned to that book to find more like it.

These are all library subject headings world dance, using Africa as an example ("Africa" can be replaced with Asia or individual countries).

  • Dance -- India
  • Transvestism -- Japan
  • Folk Dancing -- India
  • India -- Social life and customs
  • Sex role --Japan

2. Worldcat - combined catalog of all libraries

Use Worldcat to locate books not owned at Duke for interlibrary loan and archives of collections.  There's a "libraries with this item" link that shows NC libraries first.
