Overview

Our holdings encourage research and scholarship in many different areas of African American history and culture.  The interdisciplinary nature of our collecting supports global interest in Black Studies and views African American lives as inevitably intertwinded with other social hierarchies and experiences across the Diaspora.  

 

Using Our Collections

ACCESS: Though these guides can be used by anyone on the web, many of the resources they link to are available by subscription only to Duke University students, faculty and staff using a valid net ID. Members of the general public wishing to access these resources may only do so while on campus.


 

Off Campus Access

Off-campus access to most library databases and e-journals is available only to current Duke students, faculty, and staff.  Use one of the following methods to access these resources from off-campus.
