Ebru Nihan Celkan

Ebru Nihan Celkan is the founder of BuluTiyatro, a text-driven theater company in Istanbul, and the author of more than nine plays, which have been widely performed in Turkey, two having been included in the repertoire of State and City theaters. She is one of four international playwrights invited by the Maxim Gorki theater in Berlin and the Robert Bosch Foundation, among other co-sponsors, to participate in the "War in Peace Project," in which an ongoing group discussion leads to the composition of new dramatic works. Celkan is a human-rights activist who writes for the Evrensel Sunday supplement on such issues. Her play on assassination cells in Turkey, Triggerman (based in part on the death of the Armenian journalist, Hrant Dink), will be included in an anthology of Turkish drama, to be published by Laertes of Chapel Hill.

Özge Ertem

Özge Ertem is inspired by a quest to combine the field of history with that of theater, and to locate common sources and methodologies. A historian by training (an instructor of history at Koç University’s College of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the former editor-in-chief of publications at their Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations), she is also a member of the BuluTiyatro company where she applies her experience from various acting classes and workshops, performing in several plays and active in project development. Ertem is one of the editors of a forthcoming anthology of Turkish drama to be published by Laertes of Chapel Hill.

Özlem Karadağ

Özlem Karadağ has long navigated the waters of both scholarship and theater, combining her degrees in English language and Literature, her research in contemporary drama, and duties as a professor at Istanbul University with stints in various theater companies. In 2012 she joined BuluTiyatro as a resident dramaturg and assistant director, as well as being engaged in project development. Karadağ has also translated many contemporary English plays which have gone on to be produced by theater companies in Istanbul. She is one of the editors of a forthcoming anthology of Turkish drama to be published bLaertes of Chapel Hill.
