Finding Additional Visual Material

The Rubenstein Library's Archive of Documentary Arts collects, preserves, and provides access to audio, moving images, photography, and text from around the world related to the history of documentary arts. Consult their website or staff for additional information.

The Duke University Library's Digital Collections provide free access to a number of image collections, largely drawn from the Rubenstein.

The Visual Studies guide created by Duke's Art Librarian, Lee Sorensen, will direct you to an array of pictorial resources within and without the university.

To identify books and other materials, search the DUL catalog using subject terms with these formats:

  • Cuba--pictorial works
  • Havana (Cuba)-pictorial works
  • Documentary Photography--Nicaragua
