Usability Lab

Introduction
Usability Resources at Duke
User testing of interfaces and websites is a good way to assess if your websites and interfaces are meeting the needs of your users. Usability testing
is the where a user is observed in test scenarios and asked to perform
and complete certain tasks. The Participant's actions are
recorded for both qualitative and quantitative information. These results are then analyzed to help identify and correct user problems. There are different approaches to usability testing that can differ depending on what resources are available and what approach is taken.
Over the last few years, Duke University Libraries has conducted
several assessment projects using usability equipment and methodology. This guide is a collection of those resources and services that are available to the Duke Community.
Included are:
- How to Conduct a Usability Test
- Usability Lab and Mobile Testing Equipment - available by reservation when not in use by Library Staff.
- Resources & Samples
