The Summer Reading Selection Committee, working collaboratively this year with The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has narrowed the field of finalists to six choices.  The book chosen this year will be the summer reading selection for incoming first-year students at both universities. 

Please share your thoughts about any or all of the titles below, keeping in mind our selection criteria:

  • Prompts stimulating debate and lively discussion
  • Resonates with incoming students
  • Stimulates deep thought and personal transformation
  • Enriches the intellectual life of students
