Journals at Duke

It's best to use larger index databases that may not deliver full-text, but give broader coverage.  Most journal databases will give you the option to use the "Get it at Duke" button to locate the hardcopy.

More than half of all art journals are not full text.  Image copyright often prevents previously-published articles from broader, web distribution.  Searching journal titles in the online (Duke) catalog will A) link you to full-text versions or B) tell you where the hard copy runs are (usually Lilly).

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan has the power to request books worldwide. There are two easy ways to obtain ILL material.

1. Books - Worldcat (see tab four, "Book Catalogs") is a list of everything published.  Simply click the GET IT AT DUKE button.

2. Articles - Search the journal index to locate your citation.  Most indexes offer the GET IT AT DUKE button which links directly to ILL.  If not, or if the GET IT AT DUKE button isn't working, paste the information directly into the interlibrary loan form.

Articles appear in pdf in your email.

Books will arrive at the library you selected in 1-2 weeks, usually.
