In addition to the support provided by subject librarians, the library also has specialized centers that provide additional services:
- International & Area Studies Department
Librarians with specialized language skills and in-depth knowledge of regional cultures and societies offer research consultations, library instructions, course guides, tours and orientations, and acquisition of research materials.
- Center for Data and Visualization
Team of consultants and interns offers support in data science, data sources, data management and curation, data visualization, and mapping and GIS (geographic information systems).
- ScholarWorks: A Center for Scholarly Publishing
Team of consultants offers help to develop digital projects and publications, share work broadly online, understand copyright issues, negotiate publication contracts, and build reader engagement.
- The Edge: The Ruppert Commons for Research, Technology, and Collaboration
A collaborative space for interdisciplinary, data-driven, digitally reliant or team-based research.
- Writing Studio - Thompson Writing Program
The TWP Writing Studio is dedicated to working with writers, both native and non-native speakers of English, by means of collaborative, non-evaluative consultations, workshops, writing groups, and events.
