Zotero and Legal Research: Using Zotero for Articles & Books

This guide is a modification, with permission, of Todd Ito's guide from the University of Chicago

Saving Citations from Article Databases

Zotero allows you to save references from databases like HeinOnline, Google Scholar, and Index to Legal Periodicals with one click. If Zotero detects that you're looking at a book or article on a catalog, database, or a site like Amazon.com or the New York Times, you should see a book or page icon appear in the address bar of your browser. Just click the icon and Zotero will automatically save the citation.

Compatibility with Library Databases

Zotero automatically captures citations from library catalogs and databases.

Zotero is compatible with the Duke's Library Catalog and Lens, as well as many of the Library's article databases. View a complete list of compatible sites

For best results, go to the full record for the item to begin capturing data.
