How to Use This Guide

This guide is intended to help you find the information you need to complete your assignments in this Writing 101 course. To look at the different parts of this guide, click on the tabs above this page.

"Writing Your Literature Review" shows you how to write a literature review and tells you where you can get help with writing at Duke.

"Finding Articles" includes suggestions for finding scholarly articles on your topic and using databases.

"Finding Books" helps you search for books in the catalog and find them in the library, or request them if they aren't at Duke.

"Evaluating Sources" shows you how to distinguish scholarly from popular articles as well as how to make sure what you find is trustworthy.

"Citing Sources" tells you how to cite sources and suggests tools you can use to keep track of your citations.
