Welcome!  This is the library guide for students in Prof. Reaves' Writing 20 course on  "Jesus and Gender."  It will guide you through the research process. I look forward to working with you this semester!

Use these reference sources to find background information, check concepts and definitions, and look for commentary on the New Testament.


Anchor Bible Dictionary: available on CD in the Divinity School Library

New Interpreters Bible: print volumes available in the reference section of the Divinity School Library

Oxford Reference Online: Religion and Philosophy    Provides access to encyclopedias, dictionaries, and other reference works

Encyclopedia of Religion in America

Oxford Guide to People and Places in the Bible: print copy available in the reference section of the Divinity School Library

Oxford Biblical Studies Online   Provides access to six Oxford editions of the Bible, with commentary and annotations from study Bibles combined with reference material and source texts

Locating Books

Catalog says available? Go to that library to pick it up in person.

Book checked out or at the Library Service Center(LSC)? Request it by clicking on "Get this title" in the upper right corner,  and then clicking "Request" under "Get it at Duke."
