TOEFL Practice Tests (Duke only)

LearningExpressLibrary offers TOEFL iBT practice tests for listening, reading, speaking, and writing.  Use TOEFL in the search box to find a number of tests.

You will need to create an account on the homepage.  This allows you access to your tests.

Suggested Resources

  • EmbedPlus: How to Pronounce Words and Use Them
    earch for a word and you'll not only get audio of how to pronounce it, but also tagged videos of real people in real situations naturally speaking and using the word in context.
  • Englishleap
    Englishleap offers lots of free resources for learning English online.It also offers free English speaking with the help of interactive voice record features.

Software: Transparent Language Online

Transparent Language Online is an online language instruction program offered by the Duke Libraries (Duke users only). It features audio flashcards for practicing a number of languages, including English.

Itunes U Language Courses Language instruction podcasts, including ESL courses (requires itunes).

Manythings.org: Interesting Things for ESL Students A collection of tools and activities for ESL learners, updated frequently.

English Club Lessons, quizzes, and other activities and resources for learners of English.

WordReference English Forum A very active forum where English speakers answer questions and offer language advice.

ExamFocus offers free TOEFL online practive exams.
